Makwanpur. Three people died in a scooter accident in Jamire, Manhari rural municipality-9 of Makwanpur under East-West Highway.
Among those who died are Andaji Dharmaraj Moktan, 30 years old, resident of Simpani, Manhari Rural Municipality-8, Makwanpur, Milan Moktan, and Rupesh Tamang, resident of Raksirang Rural Municipality-3, Lawati, Makwanpur.
Dharmaraj Moktan was declared dead by doctors at 3:35 am today (Friday) and Milan Moktan and Rupesh Tamang were brought to the hospital at 12:30 last night, said Krishnaraj Dhakal, police inspector of the area police office, Manhari.
Last night at around 11:00 PM, a team of police from the area police office, Manhari, reached the spot after receiving information about a scooter accident at Bhaladami Chowk, Jamire, Manhari Rural Municipality-9. The police rescued all three in critical condition and sent them to the old medical college in Chitwan for treatment.
Locals also closed the road for a while demanding action against the culprits saying that the three people on the scooter had died when they were hit by a vehicle. The road which was blocked by the locals from around 2:50 this morning demanding to identify and take control of the vehicle that hit them was opened by the police at 6:25 this morning.
